Web Design Principles

This article is a brain dump of my thoughts on what makes websites welcoming and easy to surf. It seems to me even professional designers often don't always get this right, but you really only have to think of good sites like Google to appreciate what a difference good design makes. This is not a technical article, it's about how what facilties a site should have and how these should be made easy and convenient for its users.
